It takes the support of so many generous people to help us raise funds, manage the organization, and provide the integrated programming enjoyed by thousands of young people with special needs each year. Talk to us about what might fit your personality and your goals. Or perhaps you have an idea of your own! However you decide to help, your support will be invaluable.
There are so many opportunities to lend a hand. Take a look at the list below for inspiration or click the Get Involved link to find out more from our team!

VOLUNTEER AT OUR GALA OR ANY REACH EVENT
REACH is always looking for volunteers to help make a difference in our shared community. REACH holds Signature Events every year and we need the enthusiastic help of volunteers to make them the success that they can be – and they are always so much fun, too!
VOLUNTEER ON OUR PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Program department of REACH has formed the Program Advisory Committee (PAC).
Program Advisory Committee members are encouraged to actively participate in the work of the PAC by:
- Attending all PAC meetings either in person or via a conference call
- Sharing their expertise, opinions, ideas and stakeholder perspectives on inclusion and accessibility
- Informing the Program’s operational planning and discussing its initiatives and deliverables
- Contributing to and reviewing of the program documentation and/or training materials
- Promoting the good work of the organization
- Building strategic partnerships
- Each representative gives a two-year commitment with the chance of renewal for two more years
- Recruit new members to ensure the continuity of the PAC’s work
VOLUNTEER AT A CAMP PROGRAM
REACH Program Participants, between the ages of 17 and 24 years, may have the inclusive opportunity to attend camp as a volunteer. Campers with disabilities, like many campers, want to return to camp as part of the staff team. With 1:1 support, an individual with a disability can return to camp in a work role and make the natural transition from camper to camp staff.
Stay tuned as our Volunteer Handbook is under review – for more information contact us!
VOLUNTEER AS A REACH AMBASSADOR
The new REACH Ambassador Program will annually train up to 35 youth and emerging adults with disabilities, to equip you with skills such as public speaking, advocacy and transferable job readiness skills. We are currently conducting a pilot with 12 individuals with disabilities across Ontario. Our training programs shape the lives of young people, reinforcing the values of integrity, respect and perseverance. We want you to grow, interact and serve. We provide well-trained, strong role models and peer supports (our 1:1 support counsellors) to help prepare you for your future entry into the workforce. We want to empower and educate you, and prepare you to enter the adult world!
