Program: Returning Families

Camp sessions must be confirmed by Reach for the Rainbow before your child’s registration forms are mailed to camp. Reach for the Rainbow must ensure that a 1:1 support counsellor is available for all participants.

Even returning families need to tell RFTR their camp requests each year as camp sessions and requirements may change.

Returning participant registration forms & updates must be received by the deadline indicated on the Returning Participant Form for the best chance of getting your choice of camp and session dates.

Transition to Residential Camp

Most day camps are intended for children 5-12 years old, and have very limited youth programming for 12-14 year olds.  Reach for the Rainbow recommends that families start to transition their children to residential camps at 10-12 years of age. Residential camps usually offer programming for 7-14 year olds, with limited pewee (5-7) and youth programs (14-16) as well.

Volunteer Handbook
Reach for the Rainbow participants may have the opportunity to attend camp as a volunteer with 1:1 support between the ages of 17-23.
