REACH SUPPORT

We enrich the lives of children, youth and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities, as well as their families and communities by developing integrated, inclusive recreational programs across Ontario. Connecting families with the right program, we then support program directors and counsellors with the best training to make the experience successful for everyone. We see a future where all children with differing abilities enjoy, without limitation, every opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

Inclusion can only be achieved in an environment of acceptance and compassion.

ABOUT REACH >

“We did an intake interview with a REACH Program Coordinator, which was more thorough than any other program intake we have ever done – asking about every moment of his day. And the integration along with the comfort of 1:1 Counselling – these were huge.” – Nikki, REACH Parent

ABOUT REACH >

“My son learns from neurotypical kids and they learn about him, his quirks, his loves. Inclusion is being one. Everyone of different backgrounds and abilities together experiencing the same thing in different ways – is a beautiful thing.”
– Thea, REACH Parent

REACH is helping us reach our goal for Jonah – independence.

I was thinking about my 50 years with the YMCA. Having watched several of the participants literally “grow up” at camp, the value of the program in their lives is both substantial and very obvious. I don’t think I’ve ever been so impressed with a program like I’ve been with REACH. – Gary, past CEO, Sudbury YMCA

“REACH trains ALL staff who also help develop peer support. Everybody is living and breathing the same philosophy of inclusion and integration. These strong values help me trust what REACH offered to me as a parent.” – Oksana, REACH Parent

My child seamlessly blended in with everyone at the camp.
